Ground-breaking ceremony for new "Blades II" production hall celebrated

On 7th April 2022, HARRY’S celebrated the official ground-breaking ceremony and thus the start of construction for its new ” Blades II” production hall. In addition to the Managing Directors Gordon Bittig and Florian Schebitz, as well as the former Managing Director Michael Hirthammer, Gerd Braun – 2nd Deputy Mayor of Eisfeld, Thomas Müller – District Administrator of Hildburghausen, Dr. Peter Traut – President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Southern Thuringia, Kai Kowalske – Partner Vollack Eisenach, as well as Tevis Martin – VP Global Technology & Manufacturing of HARRY’S attended the ground-breaking ceremony as guests of honour.

HARRY’S implements a planned expansion of the blade production and secures further manufacturing capacities for the future. The production hall with a two-storey extension has a gross floor area of more than 2,000 square metres. The production area is located in the single-storey section, while the two-storey extension will house storage and technical facilities as well as offices, social, training and meeting spaces.

The project is being realised in cooperation with the Vollack Group. The high-quality design of the building complex meets HARRY’S aesthetic standards and is also sustainable. The new building will be constructed in accordance with current and energy-saving building standards and will be completed at the end of 2022. Compared to the standard construction method, the primary energy requirement is thus only 40 percent, which means a saving of 60 percent compared to the standard construction method. The new building thus loses hardly any heat and covers the low demand highly efficiently. A photovoltaic system is also planned to generate as much “green energy” as possible itself. The Vollack company is a specialist in the methodical planning, construction and revitalisation of sustainable, energy-efficient buildings in the office, industrial and health sectors. In addition to the architectural design, they are also responsible for the implementation and coordinate the cooperation with the corresponding construction partners.
