Gothic Arch

The perfection of sharpening technology for razor blades

We are constantly working to optimize our products in order to improve ease of use and durability. In this spirit, the company has once again improved upon the unique Gothic Arch sharpening technology.

In razor cutting technology, the “Gothic Arch” is also known as the “cathedral cut”. It refers to a blade‘s profile and denotes a cut pointed arch. The name has its origins in architecture, where the arch is regarded as a central Gothic element. This technology has been used for several hundred years in custom-cut blades. But as recently as several decades ago, producing a Gothic Arch seemed to be impossible in the belt grinding process. Today, Harry’s is one of the select few manufacturers that have mastered the technology to create a Gothic Arch in the razor blade grinding process.
